I was recently reflecting on my clients and they all have a trend… They work very hard and “do the right things,” but their belief in themselves and future is either fixed into thinking they will never be “___________” or that they are always going to be “great.”
The challenge for them is that neither is technically correct in their thought process.
Sure it’s great to always think you will dominate, but what happens when you “fail?” Obviously, it is never healthy to think negatively about yourself and future, but why? And why aren’t you questioning your current state of mind? Why aren’t you confronting the reasoning behind this belief you have?
Once my clients realize their sabotaging thought processes have been affecting them, they realize the time to address their issue is NOW! My client and I then evaluate, assess and strategize a system that works best for them.
Once we figure out a new mindset for them (“growth” and “unbreakable”), we then tailor their focuses for each day, week, game, next performance and so forth for them to give themselves the best chance to succeed. And of course, this correlates and enhances well with their daily responsibilities and routines in their development and preparation that they are already naturally doing.
Here are some questions to reflect upon… Are you guilty of not giving your 100% effort after your desired result doesn’t go your way? Do your performances fluctuate regularly? Do you feel your mindset is not giving you the best chance to succeed?
If you answered yes to any or all questions, are you willing to confront your “pressures?”
If not now, WHEN?
